“Master”, a South Korean action thriller film was reported to have dominated the local box office on its first weekend, drawing over two million viewers.
According to data released by Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the film has collected an audience of about 2.2 million from December 23 to 25, making a strong No. 1 debut on the Christmas-weekend box office chart.
Meanwhile, one of the actors appearing in the movie, Kim Woo Bin was asked if he was intimidated to work with season co-stars. He reportedly take it as a challenge in a positive way saying,"If I had let that bother me, I wouldn't have appeared in the film.”
"When I first met them on the set, they were just like the characters they play in the movie. That put me at ease a bit, because I could see them as fellow cast members to play opposite -- not as top stars I admire and look up to. That helped me, too, by letting me concentrate on my role," he said as cited by Chosun.
The film stars Lee Byung Hun, Kang Dong Won, Kim Woo Bin and Oh Dal Su. The film depicts an intellectual war among a notorious con man, his sly right-hand man and a police investigator over a major financial scandal.
