MBC’s newest historical drama series “Ruler: Master of the Mask” has been getting attention even before its premiere date. Some are even guessing if the show has the same theme with Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung’s “Love in the Moonlight.”
“Ruler: Master of the Mask” stars Yoo Seung Ho, Kim So Hyun, Kim Myung Soo and Yoon So Hee. It tells the story of Joseon’s crown prince (Yoo Seung Ho) and his struggles to keep his throne with the help of the woman he loves (Kim So Hyun).
With the latest photo stills released by the network, many were intrigued with the story and the cast. Some netizens expressed their desire to see Yoo Seung Ho in a drama again. The 23-year-old actor starred previously in the drama series “Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River” as Kim In Hong.
The producers of the show teased on what fans can expect with Seung Ho’s character.
“The crown prince, played by Yoo Seung Ho, is an unfortunate character with a cruel fate. He is forced to live his entire life wearing a mask, and is on a mission to find the reason why,” they said.
Some people are also starting to compare the chemistry of Kim So Hyun and Yoo Seung Ho to Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung in their previous historical drama series “Love in the Moonlight.” It can be recalled that the KBS drama series received mixed response with Park Bo Gum being paired with a 17-year-old actress.
According to the producers, fans can look forward to the chemistry of the two actors especially that they will have a unique fate in the series. The show reportedly takes historical facts and base some of the scenes to create the series.
“Ruler: Master of the Mask” will start airing on MBC every Wednesday and Thursday from May 10.
