Lee Sung Kyung Expresses Her Views On ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’

Lee Sung Kyung’s first leading role in television series was the “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.” She reportedly said that her eyes were swollen from crying as she was very sad that the drama has already ended.

In the youth romantic comedy drama series, Lee Sung Kyung portrayed the role of Kim Bok Joo, an aspiring weightlifter who falls in love with another sports university student.

In a report, Lee Sung Kyung revealed that she has to gain 5 kilos and cut her long hair to get into the character.

"I had a hard time at first. It was depressing to gain weight and not fit into my favorite clothes. But I felt better after becoming immersed in the role. It felt like part of my character", she said. "I kept telling myself that whenever I felt pressure, I would stick to the script and my character. I just tried to concentrate on each scene, and in time I found myself becoming the character and getting more comfortable.”

Lee Sung Kyung added that she will just think about the drama whenever she wants to recall her youth.

"You are free to try anything when you are young", she said.

The 26-year-old actress has been featured on several dramas like “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Queen’s Flower,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and “Doctors.”

Lee Sung Kyung’s voice is currently used in the Korean release of DreamWorks Animation film titled “Trolls.” She will also star in the movie “Broker” which will be released this year.
