‘Tomorrow With You’ Episode 1 and 2 Recap/ Thoughts: A Korean Version of ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’?

Tomorrow With You poster

“Tomorrow With You” is a new South Korean drama series starring Lee Je Hoon of “Signal” and Shin Min Ah of “Oh My Venus.” This new drama started airing on February 3,2017 on tvN taking over the “Goblin” airtime.

According to its official synopsis, the story revolved around Yoo So Joon (Lee Je Hoon), a young CEO of a famous real estate company who has an unnatural ability. He could travel through time using the subway train. He then finds out that he will die after three years. It was revealed that his wife, Song Ma Rin (Shin Min Ah) is the key to finding out why he will die and eventually finds out his connection with her.

If you are familiar with “The Time Traveler’s Wife” movie, you could say that this drama series’ concept is somewhat the same. This might be inspired by the movie. Here are the points:

First, the man in “Tomorrow With You” is the one who has the ability to travel through time same with Eric Bana’s character Henry DeTamble in “The Time Traveler’s Wife.”

Second, same with the American romance movie, the man was helped out by someone who also time travels. In the movie, it was Henry’s older version, in the Korean drama series, it is an older friend of So Joon.

Despite the comparison, “Tomorrow With You” has set another romance drama series in another level though I am not sure if it will end up tragic just like the movie.

On “Tomorrow With You” Episode 1, I have so much impression. I actually watched it hoping to finally move on from “Goblin” syndrome but it was my fault for comparing the two.

Nevertheless, I have enjoyed this new drama. The first episode pulled me through different emotions of ride through past and future scenes.

The leads of this show, Lee Je Hoon and Shin Min Ah’s chemistry is already palpable and even more so on “Tomorrow With You” episode 2.

I am expecting more of Lee Je Hoon’s screen time as I already have crush on him. He looks like a combination of Kim Soo Hyun (My Love from the Star) and Seo Kang Joon (Entourage). I love how he is portraying that cool, rich, awesome CEO of the real estate.

Shin Min Ah, on the other hand is as always beautiful in her portrayal of the leading lady. She is a known child star actress until fame is not on her end anymore.

No wonder this drama draw mixed reactions from fans because it is truly a refreshing romance drama series.

I am expecting to see a lot more development with the story on “Tomorrow With You” Episode 3. I am excited!
